The No. 7 (AFCA) University of Minnesota Duluth football team's season came to a close Saturday afternoon in the NCAA II Tournament First Round, as the Bulldogs suffered a 32-7 setback to No. 18 (AFCA) Ashland University on the road in Ashland, Ohio.

The University of Minnesota Duluth's DaShaun Ames was named the 2025 NSIC Elite 18 Award winner for football as he held the highest cumulative grade point average from student-athletes competing on an NSIC Championship football program. Ames is a senior majoring in physical education and holds a 3.96 cumulative grade point average.

The No. 7 (AFCA) and No. 7 (D2Football.com) ranked University of Minnesota Duluth football team is heading on the road to face Ashland University in the NCAA II Tournament. The first round will be hosted inside Jack Miller Stadium on Saturday with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.

The undisputed Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Champions, the University of Minnesota Duluth football team, was awarded three individual awards, along with 13 players selected to all-conference teams, announced by the NSIC Wednesday. In individual awards, Luke Dehnicke earned the Offensive Newcomer of the Year award, alongside Head Coach Curt Wiese earning his first NSIC Coach of the  Year award and Chase Vogler earning the NSIC Assistant Coach of the Year award. In all, an NSIC high 13 UMD football players were named to the 2025 NSIC All-Conference Teams Wednesday.

For the sixth time in Curt Wiese's Bulldog career and 13th time as a program, the University of Minnesota Duluth football team competes in the NCAA II First Round this Saturday in Ashland, Ohio. The matchup is set between hosting school No. 18 (AFCA) Ashland University and the visiting No. 7 (AFCA) Bulldogs inside Jack Miller Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.

Two University of Minnesota Duluth football players were named to the 2023 Conference Commissioner's Association All-Super Region 4 Football Teams last week, as senior tight end Sam Pitz was selected to the CCA All-Super Region 4 First Team, and graduate offensive lineman Treyvon Cahalan earned CCA All-Super Region 4 Second Team honors.
