The anticipated 2025 season is set to begin for the University of Minnesota Duluth football team Thursday night. Winona State University hosts UMD at TCO Stadium which marks the first collegiate game ever played at the venue. The non-conference match is the lone non-conference battle for UMD this season with kick-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.

The University of Minnesota Duluth football program enters its 92nd season picked to finish third overall in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The NSIC has reestablished the North and South Divisions and selected UMD as dual favorites, where they were selected alongside division rival Bemidji State University. The Bulldogs look to continue their North Division historical dominance, where UMD has claimed 12 of the last 15 North Division titles, with only three being shared with rival opponents.

University of Minnesota Duluth cross country and track and field athletes Jack Van Kempen and Savannah Schley have earned spots on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District®  Cross Country;Track and Field Team, and both were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.

A certain senior second baseman has a new moniker -- All-American Nicole Schmitt.The University of Minnesota Duluth softball's Nicole Schmitt was minted the newest title Wednesday when she was name to the National Fastpitch Coaches Assocation All-American First Team. The Verona, Wis. native is the first Bulldog to be bestowed the citation since the 2018 trio of Hannah Schmoll, Becky Smith and Natalie Wright.

The University of Minnesota Duluth softball's Nicole Schmitt was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region First Team announced on Monday.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced Monday that the University of Minnesota Duluth Volleyball Team has been picked to finish eighth in the conference as voted by league coaches. It was also announced that junior right side hitter Madeline Guetzkow (Mayer, Minn.) was named UMD's Player to Watch entering the 2025 season.

In the midst of a multi-year television agreement, the University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Department and MY9 Sports have announced the 2025-26 broadcast schedule that will continue to provide a home for Bulldog football, volleyball, men's and women's hockey, as well as men's and women's basketball for the current athletic calendar year.

The University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Department will induct nine members into hallowed Hall of Fame this September, a group of former Bulldog athletes that drove UMD into to both the national and international stages, respectively.
