The Season So Far
The Bulldogs went into the quarterfinal round of the NSIC tournament at sixth in the conference with a regular season overall record of 17-9 and a conference record of 10-8. UMD was able to take down the #5 Southwest Minn. State University Mustangs in the opening round to move on, a third place team that the Bulldogs had lost to twice during the regular season.
Scouting Report - Concordia St. Paul
UMD will take on the second seeded Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears in this NSIC semifinal round, a matchup we have only seen once this season but ended in a tough 0-3 loss for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are 28-32 against the Golden Bears in program history, last beating them in a four set showdown in the 2019 season.
CSP ended their regular season schedule with a pair of 3-0 wins over the University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minn. State University. They defeated the Winona State University Warriors in their opening round matchup of the NSIC tournament and hold onto an eight win streak going into their match against the Bulldogs.
Looking Ahead
If the Bulldogs were to win their matchup against Concordia St. Paul on Saturday, they will face the winner of Wayne State College versus St. Cloud State in the NSIC championship on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3:00 PM.
