The No.16 ranked University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team closed out their trip at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) postseason tournament with a five set loss to the No.4 ranked Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears.

Set One: UMD (16) - CSP (25)

The Bulldogs would get off to a slow start, losing the first six points to the Golden Bears with two UMD attack errors. The two teams would go 3-3 on the next six points before a burst of momentum out of the Bulldogs would secure them six unanswered to tie the game back up at 9-9. CSP would be quick to respond with a string of seven points for themselves, aided by another three UMD attack errors. UMD would struggle to close the gap, picking up seven out of the last 16 points to end the set.

Set Two: UMD (25) - CSP (22)

The Bulldogs would get out to an early 6-3 lead before the Golden Bears would take six unanswered points for themselves. They would get three points back and tie things back up at 10 each. The two teams would keep close in scoring, matching each other's streaks and keep things tied up to a score of 22-22. A CSP service error would provide the spark needed for the Bulldogs to secure the last three points and come out on top in the second set.

Set Three: UMD (25) - CSP (19)

The two nationally ranked teams would find each other in another back to back battle, trading points and finding themselves tied at 7-7. The Bulldogs would eventually get themselves a string of four unanswered to pull out in front of the Golden Bears, giving them enough of a lead to stay in front through the rest of the set and bring the night to match point.

Set Four: UMD (20) - CSP (25)

The Bulldogs would lose the first two points of set four, but keep things interesting and remain within two of CSP till a score of 14-16. Unfortunately, a six point streak created off of three attack errors and a service error from UMD would give the Golden Bears enough of a lead to close things out and bring the match to a fifth set.

Set Five: UMD (7) - CSP (15)

UMD would struggle to get things going on offense in the final set, losing the first four points of the set and losing another string of four later on with another attack error. The Bulldogs would fight to secure another two staggered points but would eventually fall to CSP in the end 7-15.

Top Performers

Senior outside hitter Cianna Selbitschka added another double double performance to this season's resume, tallying 13 digs and leading the match with 24 kills. Graduate student setter Madison Gordon collected a match high 57 assists through all five sets, while freshman right side Madeline Guetzkow had an impressive five service aces.
