UMD Volleyball Earns NCAA Tournament Bid, Slotted Seventh in the Central Region

The University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team slots in at #7 in the central region tonight, punching their ticket to their 24th NCAA Division II national tournament appearance in program history.

The University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team slots in at #7 in the central region tonight, punching their ticket to their 24th NCAA Division II national tournament appearance in program history.

The Bulldogs will take on the second seed Wayne State College Wildcats in the first round of the central region bracket. The Wildcats capped off their season with an 28-2 overall record after losing to St. Cloud State in the semifinals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tournament. The Bulldogs return to the dance after losing in the regional semifinal to theĀ  Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears, who takes over the #1 seed in this year's central region.

Rounding out the rest of the central region bracket is #3 Southwest Minn. State, #4 Central Missouri, #5 St. Cloud State, #6 Nebraska-Kearney, and #8 Oklahoma Baptist.

The central region bracket will be hosted at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, MN, home of the CSP Golden Bears from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2. The winner from each regional tournament will head to the finals in Moon Township, PA from Dec. 7-9.

The Bulldog's matchup against Wayne is currently set for Nov. 30. Tournament dates and times are subject to change.
