Williams Named to D2Football.com Elite 100 Team Second Team
University of Minnesota Duluth sixth-year offensive lineman Aiden Williams was named to the D2Football.com Eliete 100 Second Team Thursday, just weeks after being named a 2024 Don Hansen NCAA DII Honorable Mention All-American.
Williams, who hails from Anchorage, Alaska, has already accepted an invitation to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl. A first-time All-American selection, the sixth-year offensive lineman was recently selected to the D2CCA Football All-Super Region 4 Second Team Offense. Named a NSIC First Team All-Conference honoree in November and was a nominee for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year, Williams led a line that helped average 213.7 rushing yards a game – second best in the NSIC and the league's best total offense.
The D2Football.com Elite 100 Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from numerous sitting head coaches as well as professional football scouting veteran Josh Buchanan. The team includes first and second team selections for offense, defense and special teams along with 25 "Squad" players for offense and defense. Squad players are equal to "honorable mention" selections in similar national recognition lists. In addition, D2Football announces major awards for offensive and defensive players of the year and coach of year and coordinators of the year.
Williams was one of 11 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference players named to the team. For the entire team, click here.
