Four UMD Soccer Players Named to NSIC All-Conference Rosters
The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team had four players named to All Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rosters. Senior Jackie Jares was named to the All-Conference First Team. Rachel Boelke, Jessica Eischens, and Lauren Hansen were each picked for the Second Team as well.
Jares makes the All-NSIC First Team after a team-leading season. She eclipsed her teammates with 22 points this season (8-6-22). Jares was second in points per game (1.22) in the NSIC and tied for second in total points. The senior was also third in goals and assists per game (0.44, 0.42) and tied for third in total goals and assists.
Defensive players Boelke and Hansen were two of the three Bulldogs on the All-NSIC Second Team. Boelke started in all 19 games for UMD this season (1-2-4), with a team-leading 1,658 minutes on the pitch. Her speed and quick-thinking on defensive stopped countless rushes from opponents this season.
Hansen also played shut down defense in all 19 games this season, trailing only Boelke and goaltender Jennifer Norris in playing time. She also totaled four assists, second on the team and first for defenseman, making an impact at both ends of the field.
Finally, Eischens joins Boelke and Jares on the Second Team roster. In her rookie season, Eischens started 18 games and played in all 19. She scored her first collegiate goal in her first game. Eischens led all UMD freshmen in points (2-2-6).
The 2023 Bulldogs surpassed last year's team in All-Conference nominations, with one more.
