Women’s Basketball Earns Four Selections to CSC Academic All District Team
The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team had four players named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All District team for the 2023-24 season: sophomore Myra Moorjani, graduate student Madelyn Granica, redshirt senior Abby Johnson, and senior Ella Gilbertson.
Sophomore guard Myra Moorjani started in 10 games and appeared in all 29 games for the Bulldogs this season. Moorjani averaged 25.0 minutes per game throughout the season, tallying averages of 6.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Graduate student guard/forward Madelyn Granica completed her final season with the Bulldogs starting in all 29 games. Granica tallied the highest FG percentage of the core starters and finished third on the team for total points (299) this season.
Redshirt senior forward Abby Johnson appeared in all 29 games for the Bulldogs this season, logging a start on UMD Senior Day versus the University of Sioux Falls. Finished second on the team for 3PT shots made (26) this season and fourth in total blocks (15) through 479 minutes of play.
Senior guard/forward Ella Gilbertson started in all 29 games for the Bulldogs, averaging the second most minutes per game (30.9) this season. Gilbertson led the team in total rebounds (174), earning her Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) second team honors earlier this season.
