Rhoades and Gilbertson Named to NSIC All Conference Teams
Graduate student guard Taytum Rhoades and senior guard / forward Ella Gilbertson have been named to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All Conference teams this morning, Feb. 29. Rhoades was named to the NSIC All Conference First team, while Gilbertson earned a nomination to the NSIC All Conference Second team.
Rhoades earns her first all conference team nomination of her career this year. She has started in all 27 games for the Bulldogs this season, shooting 118-302 (.391) from the field, 18-84 (.214) from three point range, and 65-79 (.823) from the free throw line. She currently leads the team in points (319), assists (124), steals (40), and blocks (37), earning herself a NSIC Player of the Week award earlier this year. Rhoades currently sits at 935 career points with the Bulldogs, just 65 points from the 1000 point milestone.
Gilbertsonalso earns her first all conference team nomination of her career this year. She has started in all 27 games for the Bulldogs, shooting 96-216 (.444) from the field, 29-82 (.354) from three point range, and 64-80 (.800) from the free throw line. She currently leads the team in rebounds (166), and is second on the team for points (285), assists (53), and steals (27). Gilbertson set a new career high for points scored in a single game (32) with a win over Sioux Falls in the opening round of the NSIC tournament run.
Women's basketball will continue their season at the NSIC tournament in the Sanford Pentagon this weekend. The Bulldogs first game is set to tip off on Sunday, Mar. 3, at 7:00 PM.
