Bulldogs Rank Third in NSIC All-Sports Fall Standings

UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition

UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.

After the completion of the fall sport season, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has released its current All-Sports Standings, which leads to an overall champion, along with a men's and women's champion at the end of the competition year.

Currently, the University of Minnesota Duluth sits third in the overall standings, 4.5 points behind Minnesota State University, Mankato in second. On the men's side, the Bulldogs are ranked second -- five points behind current leader Augustana College. In the women's standings, UMD sits at seventh, 1.5 points out of the 5th and 6th spot, and 2.5 points out of the fourth spot.

The winner of each title in a conference-sponsored championship receives points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.

The NSIC will release all-sports standings again following the winter sports season. The NSIC All-Sports Champion is announced following the spring season, with the award being presented at the NSIC Hall of Fame banquet in July 2024.

Here is complete look at the current standings --
