Get Ready Checklist
We've put together a list of the essentials you will want to check off your list during Bulldog Welcome Week!

Check-in at Bulldog Bash

Bulldog Bash is on Wednesday 8/21 from 1-3 pm and Thursday 8/22 from 12-3 pm in Ordean Court. Stop by the check-in table to get a copy of the Welcome Week schedule with specific information about your small group. We’ll also have games, treats, and other fun activities.

Transfer & Commuter Student Socials

If you are a transfer student or commuter student (living off campus) you should plan on attending the Transfer or Commuter Student Social. This will help you meet other transfer or commuter students and know which Welcome Week events are essential for you. Commuter Student Social: Thursday, August 22, 2:30-3:45 pm, Kirby Ballroom Transfer Student Social: Thursday, August 22, 2:30-3:45 pm, Kirby Rafters

Attend Bulldog Welcome Week Kickoff

The BWW Kickoff is on Thursday, August 22 at 4:30 pm in Romano Gym. The Chancellor, Mayor, and Student Government President will officially welcome you to the Bulldog Community as we start welcome week off by building some UMD pride and spirit!

Attend Small Groups

You will meet with your Small Group twice during BWW, depending on the color group. Maroon groups meet from 10-11:30 am on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24. You will eat a meal with your group during these meeting times. If you are registered for UST 1000 your Small Group is your UST class. If not, you will be assigned to a Small Group with other students with similar experiences so that you can make connections for your future at UMD.

Meet Your Academic College

On Friday, August 22 at 1:00 pm you will gather with faculty, staff, and students from your academic college. There will be snacks and you will get to interact with the faculty and staff who are integral to your academic success at UMD. Locations vary based on college: CEHSP - Field House; CAHSS - MPAC; LSBE - Field 1 / Field 2; SCSE - Romano / Field 8.

Attend The Hook Up

Dive into the good and the bad sides of hookup culture in this essential program on Saturday, August 24 at 11:30 am for Maroon Groups and 1 pm for Gold Groups. This session covers topics such as what is harmless fun, and what crosses the line, how to not be a bystander, and how to help potential victims. We understand this event can be triggering, there will be a sister event in the Multicultural Center (Second Floor Kirby), that offers discussions with UMD’s Women's Resource & Action Center. The discussion is offered to any and all students.
