- 0:58Beyond the classroom | A different perspectiveJenna Whiting is studying marketing and graphic design at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Outside of class, she serves as the chief marketing officer and treasurer for Bulldog Rocketry, a student club that builds rockets and competes in an international competition each year. She also has an internship with Lake Superior Helicopters where she manages social media and website design. “I guess I just like things in the air,” she said. Whiting is most proud of the way she overcame health issues in her life, including scoliosis and a heart transplant. - 1:01Body doubling group helps students stay on trackThe Office of Disability Resources at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) started a body doubling group called “Momentum Group” to help students with executive functioning. Body doubling is a productivity technique that involves students working on tasks in close proximity to each other in order to help with accountability and motivation. - 1:55Musical masterclass with VocalEssenceStudents at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) received a masterclass in vocal performance from the world-renowned choral group, VocalEssence. The learning experience, supported by the UMD Robert and Kathleen Carlson Choral Music Fund, was followed by a public performance in Weber Music Hall where UMD students joined the VocalEssence choir for the final two songs. - 0:38Beyond the classroom | Testing a rocket motorThe University of Minnesota Duluth’s Bulldog Rocketry team tested their rocket motor in front of a crowd of students, faculty and staff, community members and alumni at the UMD Land Lab.
