CEHSP staff spotlight: Krista Mulcahy
Why did you choose to work at UMD?
I had been working at other, small local nonprofits and wanted to work somewhere with more varied opportunities where I could grow. However, it was still really important for me to believe in the mission of the organization that I worked for. That's why UMD, and specifically, CEHSP, felt like a good fit.
What do you like most about your job?
I love that I get to support programs that are educating students and professionals so they can go out and make a positive difference in people's lives. I appreciate how supportive and welcoming my coworkers are and am constantly impressed by their dedication to serving students.
Do you have any advice for students?
Listen with an open heart. There are many types of wisdom in this world and sometimes you'll be surprised where it comes from. Be kind to yourself and others. Make it a priority to do something you love outside of work. Wear sunscreen.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time hiking with my family, including my two boys. I enjoy riding horses and spending too much time at the barn, reading, playing the piano, and cooking.
