Celebrating Homecoming Week 2025 at UMD
From new standards like cardboard boat races, to classics like Bulldog Athletics events and the revitalization of UMD’s Homecoming Parade, Homecoming 2025 celebrates the spirit of UMD.
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) will celebrate Homecoming Week from Monday, Sept. 22, through Saturday, Sept. 27, with a full slate of spirited events designed to engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater Duluth community.
From spirited student activities to thrilling athletic events, this is your chance to show your UMD pride and be part of something unforgettable. Whether you’re a current student, an alum, or a proud supporter, Homecoming is the perfect time to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate together.

Student Events
Homecoming week is packed with exciting student activities you won’t want to miss. From Service Sunday to the Golf Cart Parade and everything in between, there’s something happening every day to bring the Bulldog community together. Gather your friends, join the fun, and show your UMD pride all week long.

Water Works Wednesday
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 6 –8 p.m., students will be making a splash this Homecoming at the Bagley Pond in cardboard boat races. There will also be a dunk tank and other water-based activities.
Golf Cart Parade
On Saturday, Sept. 27, UMD’s re-envisioned parade makes a comeback in the Golf Cart Parade, from 9–11:30 a.m. Student organizations will be issued a golf cart to decorate at 9 a.m., then parade their creations around campus starting at 10:45 a.m. Chancellor Nies will preside as Grand Marshal, with Michael Rosenzweig as Alumni Grand Marshal.
Homecoming Beer & Cider Tent
On Saturday, Sept. 27, during tailgating festivities, enjoy craft beer, cider, and great company before the big game. Raise a glass at the Homecoming Beer & Cider Tent– it’s the perfect way to celebrate Bulldog spirit, reconnect with friends, and kick off Homecoming weekend. $10 tickets are limited.

Athletics
There’s nothing like cheering on the Bulldogs during Homecoming week. From thrilling matchups to tailgate traditions, UMD Athletics is bringing the energy all week long. Join us in the stands, wear your maroon and gold, and be part of the roar that powers our teams to victory.
