Undergraduate students in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth are gaining summer research experience through two distinct programs: the Biology Undergraduate Research in Science and Technology (BURST) program and the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP). The paid opportunities give students time to explore topics that interest them while learning research tools and procedures. The programs are part of a broader effort within the college to provide research experience to undergraduate students and build their confidence as scientists.
