NCAA CANCELS WINTER AND SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN WAKE OF COVID-19

NCAA

Thu Mar 12, 2020
Today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors cancelled the 2020 NCAA DI men's hockey championships  and Division II women's 2020 basketball tournament, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, the NCAA's ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.

The University of Minnesota Duluth was scheduled to begin competition in the NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament on Mar. 13. All of those events have been cancelled by the NCAA.

Please check back at this website for more updates on schedule changes or cancellations of other University of Minnesota Duluth intercollegiate athletic events.
